On October 8th, 2017 we were invited to speak at Be An Engineer!, A set of high school outreach Ted talks. These talks are designed to showcase work that university students are involved in, and help high school students decide to join engineering related fields. We presented to over 100 parents and high school students and told them about the Formula SAE competition, CMR itself, and how the work we do benefits us as students and engineers. During our breakout sessions, many students and parents stopped by, with many students telling us how our presentation helped them shape how they want to go about their college selection process. One student was so amazed by the work we do and our presentation that she told me she was now interested in mechanical engineering!
We would like to thank Kelly McQuoid for inviting us to speak at this event.
